Conduction shape factor
Noun
When you have two surfaces, each one emits radiant energy (according to its temperature level) towards the surroundings, and part of it is intercepted by the other. The relationship between the energy intercepted by one surface and the total emitted by the other.

Convection resistance
Noun
Resistance to heat transport through fluid movement.
Example: The equation for the resistance to convection is as follows: Rconv=1/ha

Critical radius of insulation
Noun
is the measure of the radius of an insulator in which the heat transfer is maximum or the resistance of the heat flow is very low
Example: When placing an insulating material, it must be verified that its external radius is greater than the critical radius or that the critical radius is less.

Cylinder conduction resistance
Noun
If the temperatures of the fluids, inside and outside the tube, remain constant, then the heat transfer through that tube is stationary. Therefore, the heat transfer through the tube can be considered stationary and one-dimensional.
Example: To know the conduction resistance of a cylinder, Fourier's law is used

The efficiency of a fin is the relationship between the heat (Qf) that is transferred of a fin with given conditions, and the maximum heat transfer (Qmax) that would exist if that fin were at the maximum temperature (the temperature of base).

Interface resistance
Noun
is a measure of an interface's resistance to thermal flow. This thermal resistance differs from contact resistance (not to be confused with electrical contact resistance) because it exists even at atomically perfect interfaces.

Is the heat flux distributed on all the faces of the wall
Example: This relation can be extended to plane walls that consist of two or more layers by adding an additional resistance for each additional layer.

Radiation resistance is the act of manufacturing electronic components and systems that are resistant to damage or malfunction caused by ionizing radiation (high-energy electromagnetic and particulate radiation), such as those found in outer space, aircraft flights. high altitude, around nuclear reactors and particle accelerators or in nuclear accidents.

Sphere conduction resistance
Noun
Resistance that opposes the flow of heat in the walls of the sphere.

In thermal engineering, the thermal contact conductance [W / m 2 .K] or the thermal contact resistance [m 2 .K / W] represents the heat conduction between two solid bodies

Total thermal resistance
noun
Represents the ability of the material to oppose the flow of temperature. In the case of homogeneous materials, it is the ratio between the thickness and the thermal conductivity of the material; in inhomogeneous materials the resistance is the inverse of the thermal conductance.
Example: The thermal resistance concept can also be used to solve steady heat transfer problems involving parallel layers or combined series-parallel arrangements.
